This is something I wouldn’t have predicted, but I’ve actually installed Netscape, and now I use it from time to time.
Why?
Before this last release, once or twice a week I’d have to open that piece of garbish called Internet Explorer. Not because I wanted to, but because there are some websites out there that suck, and only work in IE.
As opening IE makes me sick, I thought I would use Netscape instead… using IE in the background.
The websites work, I have tabbed browsing, I’m not using IE (directly), so I’m a bit happier.
Obviously I don’t like Netscape very much – Firefox is the king – but it’s a better alternative compared to IE…
As I haven’t used it except to visit some specific sites that refuse to work in Firefox, I haven’t an opinion on Netscape yet… But being able to choose between IE and Firefox for rendering is cool!
